Prepare USB flash drive with 32-bit Ubuntu and 32-bit EFI bootloader

  1. Download 32-bit Ubuntu Desktop ISO. For example, 32-bit Ubuntu 16.04.01 ISO.
  2. Download 64-bit Ubuntu Desktop ISO. For example, 64-bit Ubuntu 16.04.01 ISO.
  3. Download Debian multi-arch ISO. For example, Debian 8.6.0 netinst ISO.
  4. Create bootable USB flash drive using Rufus and 32-bit Ubuntu Desktop ISO.
  5. Open 64-bit Ubuntu Desktop ISO and copy /boot and /efi directories to USB flash drive.
  6. Open Debian netinst ISO and copy /efi/boot/bootia32.efi file and /boot/grub/i386-efi directory to USB flash drive.
  7. Rename /casper/vmlinuz file to /casper/vmlinuz.efi file on USB flash drive.
